We often forget to enjoy the view as we spend hours behind the camera lens. This picture shows what happened when we arrived at Il Greppo winery near Siena – a photographic hog-heaven of sorts. I’m curious, what sorts of body contortions will you do to get the perfect shot? Anyway you look at it, it’s complicated!

What a great place to shoot some pictures. I see a ton of great shots there. I have been in some weird positions trying to get that perfect shot. After all you may never get a second chance to shoot there again.

Oh heck, I think I’d do anything, so long as it did not hurt, well at least not for too long! But one thing that can never be overestimated is the importance of a good tripod. They make so many shots possible. Many companies make little portable ones appropriate for travel that are fab. Tripods rule.

Oh yes, I totally agree about the tripod thingy. But, I don’t lug my big cameras around when I’m traveling. What you see was all taken with my cannon s95 – a great little portable camera that has lots of options.

Hi Beth, this photo reminds of that American romance movie shoot in Italy. i forgot the title. in the movie Diane Keaton (not so sure if it is she she is or was it Diane Lane?) is a writer and she moved out to Italy and into this beautiful place and fall in love. Is that your life put into movie?…LOL…

Hi Beth, we were there September 2012. We arranged a day trip through an agency in Rome–spent the afternoon there at Il Greppo. Lovely place, nice people and fantastic wine! Looking forward to reading about Puglia!

Dad For Real, the movie is Under the Tuscan Sun and it was Diane Lane, not Keaton. Based on the book by Frances Mayes, which I believe is autobiographical. And, like the folks in the picture, I would be one of those contorting myself for the one-in-a-million shot. And, I would also be one of those lugging around 20 pounds of camera equipment!
