Recently attended a lunch at Mozza Restaurant in Newport Beach celebrating Nancy Silverton’s new book Mozza at Home. It was so interesting to hear Nancy tell the stories of her food.
What stuck with me most was the idea of never serving food at the table She sets up a side table with heaping plates of all different kinds of side dishes. Included in these side dishes is the Marinated Squash Salad. It has an amazing flavor that is done by infusing the oil with different spices. I recently served this salad to a group of friends and everyone was intrigued by the intense flavor layering of mustard, fennel and chili flakes (among others) over the crunchy squash. To find this recipe yourself you will need to buy the book – but that’s a small price to pay for all this deliciousness.
Looks good…a nice change.

Yes. Easy and just different enough that’s it’s a fun addition to summer eating. Thanks Marie.
